Aurifern Solver

Aurifern is a solver for CoW Protocol’s batch auctions on Plasma. It takes part in CoW’s shadow competition: CoW sends it the same auctions production solvers receive and scores its answers, but shadow answers are never settled on-chain. The figures below are measured on those auctions and refresh each minute.

Settled by another solver first is the usual outcome, not an error. In CoW’s shadow competition, production solvers work on the same orders at the same time; when one of them settles an order on-chain before CoW simulates Aurifern’s solution, the order is already filled by the time it is checked.

Scores are CoW’s measure of a solution: what the user receives above their limit price, plus fees, in XPL. A tie means the two scores agree within rounding, a few token units.

Winning is not the same as earning

CoW pays the winning solver roughly its score minus the runner-up’s, up to a cap. A win by a hair earns little; a win by a wide margin earns that margin, up to the cap. The second-price margin above is that sum over all of the replayed week’s winners, before caps.

    How Aurifern works

    What it does

Aurifern answers CoW Protocol’s batch auctions on Plasma. Today it takes part in CoW’s shadow competition: its answers are scored by CoW but never signed, submitted or settled.

    Checked before it is offered

Before an answer goes to CoW it passes freshness checks, and Aurifern’s own solutions pass a fairness self-check; anything that fails is held back.

    An operator stop

An operator can stop the solver from bidding at any time, separately for the shadow and production routes.

    Production enrolment in progress

Aurifern is not yet enrolled for CoW’s production auctions on Plasma. Until it is, the live figures on this page come from the shadow competition only.

    About these numbers
    • Answered: CoW’s request received a reply. Requests that reached the server but could not be recorded or answered (for example while its disk was full on 30 September 2026) count as received and not answered. Within deadline: the reply arrived before the auction’s deadline set by CoW; a reply whose time or deadline was not recorded is shown as “time unknown”, never as on time.
    • Answer times cover the answers the solver worked on: an empty reply returned in under 30 ms is counted as answered but left out of the timings.
    • Solutions proposed: auctions where Aurifern found a solution worth offering. Most auctions have nothing it can fill, so an empty answer is normal.
    • Clean solutions: solutions that simulated successfully when they were built. In the shadow competition, production solvers settle the same orders in parallel, so an order is sometimes already filled on-chain by the time CoW simulates the shadow solution; those are counted as clean, not as failures.
    • Replays against the winners: Aurifern’s answer is rebuilt from the auction’s recorded data and scored the way CoW scores solutions; the winners’ scores are the ones CoW published. An auction counts only when its pool state is confirmed by an independent record: Aurifern’s own live answer, CoW’s published Baseline score, or the swaps in the winner’s settlement.
    • Auction details link to CoW’s own public competition record for that auction, so every figure can be checked independently.
    • Anything unknown is shown as unknown, never as zero. This page publishes aggregate counts, timings and public auction ids only.
